“There have been shows about friends before, and there have been shows about roommates, but for me what makes this show stand out is the chemistry of the cast. Each one of these actors brings life, charm, and humanity to their part, all while delivering jokes! That is no easy task. They each bring such specificity to their performances — the angry furrow of Nick’s brow, Winston’s deadpan look, Jess’ awkward dances, the rapid-fire of Schmidt’s delivery, and the look Cece gives him back. Finding a cast with that kind of chemistry is rare. The set of a television show can be like any other workplace; a group of people, all with different personalities, working long hours together day in and out. But a good cast can become like a second family. I’m glad to see that Zooey’s TV family is Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone.”
